Okay, been a while...again! Just really really busy outside of the game.
Challenge:
I had time to do the first stage of the immunity challenge, and finished in the top 2. Pretty proud of that. Didnt get to the 2nd stage until hours later so I kinda figured I would be eliminated, but still did a bit of the final stage just in case.
Brooke won immunity, which sucks cuz she was my first pick for elimination from the challenge! Oh well, its all good.
Morgan was on the chopping block, and I had to work Jamie a little bit. He was under the impression that I was with him all the way to the end. He was sweating anyway so I told him that he was going to be the next to go, but that I was doing my best to convince the others to vote out Morgan instead. This is all preparation for the final jury should I make it there.
Remember really early in this game? One of my first posts I believe (not gonna check right now), I said that the ideal position would be the one who has the power come the final 5? Well guess what? I'm there. Assuming Jamie goes this time as planned, our alliance of 5 is the final 5. And guess who's holding all the cards? On one side I've got Jim and Brandon, the other side I have Brooke and Bobby. I'd like to take Brooke out at 5, and Jim out at 4. But its near-impossible to work that. I dont want Brooke in the final 3 because she seems to be the biggest threat at the challenges, and also because I know that if she's final 2 she will win. I can't beat her in the final 2. We've played far too similar a game and she's been much more obvious with her game that more people will respect her for that. (Think Tom vs Katie in S10).
Theres so many deals going on right now its getting pretty hard to know whose lying. I have a final 2 with Jim, Bobby, Brooke, and Jamie. Its interesting that Brandon hasnt talked to me about it, since everyone else has. This seems to confirm that he is tight with Jim as everyone presumes. I have a final 3 deal with Jim and Brandon, but if I go that route and they are tight as it seems, I wont get to the final 2 without winning the challenge.
The biggest problem with going with Jim and Brandon is that I turn Bobby against me heading into the final 4. I betray my alliance to him by voting out Brooke. It becomes a huge problem if he wins immunity at the final 4. Jim and Brandon arent going to vote for each other, so they are going to vote for me. I put myself in a position where I need Bobby to force the tie with me. And why would he if I betrayed him earlier?
I might be able to make that work, because he would know his chances in the final 3 with Jim and Brandon would be slim, but it would still require a tie-breaker challenge. Definitely complicates things a lot.
Im thinking I would be much better off to go with Bobby and Brooke and eliminate Jim at the final 5. Then if Brandon wins immunity I'm sure I would be able to get Bobby to vote for Brooke, and potentially be able to patch things up with Brandon as well.
We do think that Jim has the idol, so the trick would be making him feel totally safe at the final 5. We dont want him playing it!
Like I said before, I'd like to beat Jim in this game. He's the only one who has survived as many tribal councils as I have, so if I were to beat him, win or not, I would be the ultimate survivor in that sense.
I have nothing against Brandon at all, dont love him or hate him. He's been extremely boring throughout this game. He was great at the tribal challenges, but since the merge he's just been going along with it all. He never talks strategy with me, or at least not in-depth strategy, and we never have any memorable conversations. So I think his social game has been extremely lacking, and I'm confident I could beat him at the final 2.
Bobby would be a bit tougher, but if I were to play the jury right, I think I could win. It kinda bugs me though because I know he thinks I'm just riding his coattails. Him and Jim have both vastly underestimated me in this game.
I guess that's the catch 22 with playing this game less "in the open" as I usually play. It gets a lot tougher to convince people to vote you the winner.
Jamie should be next, if he wins immunity I'll have to see whats happening and make a decision as to whether to vote out Jim or Brooke. If I can drag Jamie along, he'd be easy to beat at both challenges and the final 2. We'll wait till immunity has been granted.
