Well Jim, Brandon, and myself have officially formed an alliance of 3. Brandon also mentioned bringing Margaret in, and I agreed to that. I would have rathered have Lydia as I formed an alliance with her on the side, but you cant be too picky. When I asked Jim about the alliance I didn't mention the Margaret part- my hopes are to have Jim, Brandon, and myself as the core alliance with Margaret thinking she's a part of it and voting with us. I just want to keep myself as secure as possible, and its better to be in a strong alliance of 3 than it is to be in an alliance of 4 with someone I havent talked to yet.
Brandon can go ahead and tell Margaret that she's in the alliance, and I won't tell her differently, but when the time comes to vote out one of our 4, it should be her that gets the vote-out and Brandon who comes off looking like the bad guy.
Actually I think the next vote could definitely be influenced by performance at the challenge. If Margaret does poorly, and Lydia does well, it shouldn't be hard to have Margaret voted out instead. Ultimately its most important to keep the tribe strong so we can win as many challenges as possible.
My alliance with Lydia basically happened because she sent me a message asking me if I want an alliance with her. I sent her one back saying that I would love to have an alliance with her, and that us girls should look out for each other. This actually happened before I made the alliance with Brandon and Jim- who I obviously cant tell.
We want to keep our tribe as unified as possible so that when a merge or shuffle happens, we dont have anyone running off and joining another tribe. If everyone feels they are secure within our tribe (even if they arent) then they will be more likely to stick with our tribe.
If I have to vote out Lydia, then I have to vote out Lydia. Not a big deal- especially this early on when she wont be on my jury. Besides, we dont really have any kind of relationship going, just a few private messages being sent back and forth.
I'm going to keep chatting with players from the other tribes so I have relationships with them before we merge or shuffle. If you wait until you need their vote, its obvious that you're just talking to them to save your own ass. I still have a good thing going with Bobby Jon- though its probably just him thinking he's playing me just as I think I'm playing him. Its the game, and we're playing each other. Whether or not we end up voting together depends on what suits our own best interests. Nothing more. But for me the more seeds you plant in this game, the more options you have and the greater your chance of winning. I'm going to plant as many seeds as I can.
I hope we can win the next challenge and send Nakum and/or Yaxha to Tribal Council. With luck they will vote out one of the winners who have been given a free ride so far.
